The sages and saints of Ayodhya have reacted to the question raised by American historian Audrey Truschke on the 4300 year old ‘Pashupati Seal’ of the Harappan period. He said that no country can make misleading propaganda against another country like this. America should apologize.

Speaking to IANS, Mahant Deveshacharya Maharaj said, “The mental balance of the leaders and people of America has deteriorated. Recently, you must have seen that America had made some comments about the Brahmins of India and India itself.

Similarly, once again he is trying to spread false propaganda to tarnish the image of India and tarnish its culture and traditions. This is not acceptable at all. We all oppose it.”

He said that no country can make misleading propaganda against another country like this. America should apologize for the actions of historian Audrey Truschke.

Mahant Sitaram Das of Ayodhya Dham, reacting, said, “The statement of American historian Audrey Truschke is extremely condemnable. If international agencies try to harm India’s history, it will not be tolerated at any cost. Even their own history is linked to Indian Sanatan culture.”

He said that this is ‘Pashupati Seal’, there is no doubt about it. What can one who has no knowledge of Sanatan culture tell about it? Foreign forces are plotting against Sanatan culture, but no one can destroy Indian culture and Sanatan.

Arya Sant Varun Das Ji Maharaj said in his statement that this (Audrey Truschke’s claim) is completely misleading and negative. It is the job of foreigners to create confusion by any means. The seal found is approximately 4300 years old. Lord Shiva has already been addressed as Pashupati. Lord Shiva is still present in Nepal in the form of Pashupati. His vehicle is the bull (Nandi).

He said, “Audrey Truschke’s statement that the seal belongs to the Proto-Elamite civilization is absolutely false and misleading. Because this civilization dates back to between 2700 BC to 3200 BC, whereas the ‘Pashupati seal’ is 4300 years old. That means there is a difference of more than a thousand years.”
