Social media platform Instagram has launched a much-awaited feature for its millions of users. Now users will be able to change the arrangement of posts visible on their profile (Profile Grid Layout) as per their choice. The name of this new feature is Profile Grid Reorder, with the help of which users will be able to give a new look to their profile without deleting or re-uploading any post.

According to Instagram’s official announcement, the new feature allows users to change the position of posts in the profile grid. This will help creators, photographers, artists, brands and business accounts to better showcase their content.

Until now, Instagram’s profile grid appeared primarily by date posted. Although some content could be shown at the top via pinned posts, the option to customize the entire grid was not available.

How will the new feature work?

To use the Profile Grid Reorder feature on Instagram, users have to go to their profile. After this, you will have to press and hold for a few seconds on the post whose location is to be changed. Then “Reorder Grid” By selecting the option the post can be dragged and dropped to the desired location.

The new system will be implemented immediately and will be visible to everyone who visits the profile.

Post date and engagement will be safe

The most important thing about this feature is that there will be no change in the original upload date, likes, comments and other engagement data of the post. Users will only be able to change the status that appears on a post’s profile.

Creators and business accounts will benefit

This feature can prove especially useful for users who use Instagram as a portfolio or promotional platform. Now they will be able to display their important posts, new projects or content to a particular theme in a better way on their profiles.

There was a demand from users for a long time

Instagram chief Adam Mosseri hinted last year that the company was working on a profile grid reordering tool. After a long wait, the company has now started rolling out this feature globally.

With the new update, Instagram users will have more control over the presentation of their digital identity and profile, allowing them to make their profiles more attractive and organized.
