Crew Girl is returning for another season, with Netflix renewing the YA drama following its first season.

The series, created and written by Vivian Lin, centres on 16-year-old rower Teagan (Miku Martineau), who becomes the coxswain of a struggling all-boys rowing team at the elite East Coast school Easton Prep.

The first season followed Teagan as she established herself as a leader while navigating rivalry, romance and fractured friendships within the team.

Her complicated relationship with her mother, Ella (Jessica Paré), also remained a key part of her story.

Teagan briefly considered transferring to Gravenhurst Academy after being offered a spot on its all-girls rowing team through her teammate Baloo Garner’s (Jude Wilson) twibling Britney (Sage Linder).

However, she ultimately chose to remain at Easton Prep after her teammate Crab Catcher (Jarrett Carlington) persuaded her to stay.

Martineau is now looking forward to continuing Teagan’s story in the second season.

“I am beyond excited for Crew Girl season two! There’s so much left to explore with the characters, the romances, and the rowing team, it’s going to be a ride for sure!” she said. “All I know is that it will definitely be a packed, juicy, drama filled second season so I’m ready to get back in a boat and on camera! #teamteagan”

Netflix has not yet announced a release date or further details about the upcoming season.
